Here we explain, from the perspective of cellular-level science, why anti-aging has inherent structural limitations.
Senescent Cells and SASP
The essence of aging is "a decline in cell quality." Through age and stress, cells become "senescent cells." Senescent cells do not merely stop dividing -- they scatter inflammatory factors known as SASP (Senescence-Associated Secretory Phenotype) into their surroundings.
What SASP Releases
IL-6, IL-8 (inflammatory cytokines) -> Chronic micro-inflammation
MMP-1, MMP-3 (collagen-degrading enzymes) -> Loss of firmness
Reactive oxygen species -> Damage to neighboring healthy cells
In other words, when even a single senescent cell appears, it drags surrounding healthy cells into accelerated aging.
Anti-Aging Cannot Address SASP
Even if you apply high-concentration retinol to erase wrinkles, the SASP from senescent cells accumulated in the dermis remains unchecked.
The Longevity Approach
Niacinamide mitigates SASP factor release through NF-kB pathway suppression (senomorphics). Fermented ingredients calm chronic inflammation through immune modulation (anti-inflammaging). Stem cell niche protection maintains the supply of new healthy cells.
Addressing Causes, Not Consequences
While anti-aging addresses "the consequences of aging (wrinkles)," Skin Longevity addresses "the causes of aging (declining cell quality and inflammation)".
