Mechanism
A synthetic tripeptide made of tyrosine and valine (JCIA and CosIng definitions). The US FDA substance registry gives its sequence as valine-tyrosine-valine (Val-Tyr-Val). Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2 is a separate ingredient obtained from this peptide and trifluoroacetic acid. No published peer-reviewed study on the skin effects of this ingredient itself could be found, and its mechanism of action is unconfirmed.
